Summary : Implant dentistry involves the preparation of a site into which a dental implant is to be placed. Proper healing is critical for osseointegration to takes place. Drilling during surgical process causes increase in the bone temperature and forces which can cause osteonecrosis reducing the stability and strength of the fixation. Several variable, such as drill design and technique, influence the subsequent healing and integration of the implant fixture.
